As a building control surveyor your role will be to ensure that Building Regulations, associated legislation and statutory requirements are followed when domestic, mixed use and commercial buildings are designed, constructed, altered, extended or converted. You will be part of a team that delivers results while providing excellent customer service and dealing with a wide range of applications and associated construction projects.

Essential qualifications/skills
A relevant, construction related degree or a minimum of a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a construction related discipline or equivalent.
Ability to undertake all necessary site inspections and surveys which may include climbing ladders, working at height and entering confined spaces.
Proven technical experience of dealing with domestic and commercial building works.
Sound knowledge of the primary legislation and technical guidance that applies to building control.
Excellent organisational and communication skills with commercial awareness and a customer focused stance.
Ability to effectively manage own casework and offer additional support to colleagues as required.
Ability to work outside normal working hours and attend evening inspections and meetings when required.
Desirable qualifications/skills
Able to carry out fire safety risk assessments and domestic access audits.
To possess a full, valid driving licence and to be able to carry out a numerous site inspections across the city on a daily basis.
To have a proven history of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Possess full CABE, RICS, CIOB or other relevant professional membership. Alternatively, being in the final stages of achieving full professional membership in a construction related discipline.
